Reflections on the Methodological Work of Faculty Members at “Lueji A'Nkonde”, University, Angola

ABSTRACT
Introduction: Managing the methodological work of faculty members at the higher education level requires an accurate assessment of the challenges and opportunities in the process of students’ holistic education.
Objective: To present the results of an assessment of the methodological work of faculty members at “Lueji A'Nkonde” University in Angola.
Methods: In this study, surveys, interviews, and observation were used as empirical methods, which made it possible to identify the main problems and potential in the methodological work of professors at “Lueji A'Nkonde” University in Angola.
Results: After processing the information obtained during the diagnostic phase, it was found that the main problems and potential in the methodological work of professors at this university, which offers degree programs in Education Sciences, Medicine, and Engineering, lie in the direction of the teaching-learning process and in the psychological assessment for the individual and group characterization of students. Furthermore, the research revealed difficulties in professional communication, in the integration of the core content of each specialty, as well as in the holistic education of future graduates.
Conclusions: The assessment of the methodological work of professors at “Lueji A'Nkonde” University in Angola made it possible to identify the main challenges and existing potential in the professors’ professional pedagogical performance, particularly regarding the holistic education of future graduates, in line with the requirements of higher education in Angola and worldwide.
