Humanistic Approach to the Labor Rights of Soccer Players in Ecuador

ABSTRACT
Introduction: This scientific article addresses the humanistic approach to the labor rights of soccer players in Ecuador, specifically because it is the sport with the greatest social impact in the country, where numerous legal conflicts arise due to contractual violations by sports clubs against professional players.
Objective: To analyze the importance of the humanistic approach to the labor rights of soccer players in Ecuador.
Methods: A descriptive and analytical study with a qualitative approach was conducted between 2020 and 2024, using historical-logical theoretical methods, systematization, documentary analysis, and case study methods.
Development: In Ecuador, there is job instability among professional soccer players due to the absence of effective legal protection mechanisms and contractual breaches by clubs towards athletes, which generates legal conflicts. Based on the analysis of specific cases and the responsible institutions, the importance of the humanistic approach to the labor rights of soccer players is highlighted.
Conclusions: The analysis of the labor rights of soccer players in Ecuador highlighted the importance of a humanistic approach to legal instruments focused on guaranteeing the labor integrity of professional athletes, including the right to the agreed salary, access to health services, and national and international complaint mechanisms.
