The Podiatric Performance of Graduates from the Bolivarian University Institute of Technology

ABSTRACT
Introduction: The performance of podiatry graduates is oriented toward professional roles associated with the diagnosis and treatment of podiatric conditions, from a clinical, epidemiological, and inclusive perspective.
Objective: To evaluate the social impact of the performance of graduates from the Podiatry program at the Bolivarian University Institute of Technology.
Methods: A descriptive and observational study was conducted at the Bolivarian University Institute of Technology from 2016 to 2024. Theoretical, structural and functional systemic methods, and documentary analysis were used. At the empirical level, a survey was used, as well as the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences for Windows.
Results: The structural and functional systemic method allowed for the correlation of the results of the instruments used. Furthermore, methodological triangulation made it possible to identify the problems and potentialities in the performance of podiatry graduates.
Conclusions: The assessment of the social impact of the performance of graduates from the Podiatry program at the Instituto Superior Universitario Bolivariano de Tecnología (Bolivian Institute of Technology) allowed us to identify the main problems and potentialities manifested in the proper application of podiatric procedures. Therefore, it is necessary to train scientifically qualified professionals in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of podiatric conditions in the Ecuadorian context.
