Death from a Marti’s vision

Abstract

Introduction: in his writings, Marti speaks of death as a liberation of the body and an opportunity for the soul to reach its fullness. He also describes it as a natural and inevitable act, which should not be feared but accepted with dignity and serenity. 

Objective: interpret José Marti’s main ideas about death. 

Methods: information was obtained through Scielo, PubMed and Google Scholar. The descriptors death; thinking; life was introduced. 17 articles in Spanish and English were selected.

Development: José Marti reasoned about death in several of the writings he created during his short-lived but enriching life. He believed that "death is not true when the work of life has been well accomplished." 

Conclusions: in his writings, Marti also reflected on mortality and the transience of life, which led him to value each moment even more and strive to leave a positive legacy. This inspiring attitude has been admired by many people over the years and has contributed to keeping Marti’s memory and legacy alive as a visionary leader and thinker.
